Tabar drew inspiration from the classical school of thought, aiming to showcase the limitations of traditional design and the potential for growth and freedom beyond those constraints. The Lovar Bistro serves as a testament to the human capacity to transcend boundaries and embrace modernity.
The design of the bistro is characterized by a gradual transition from classical to modern elements. Upon entering, visitors may initially feel a sense of confusion, as the spatial impression challenges their expectations. However, as they explore further, they are gradually immersed in the modern atmosphere, appreciating the intentional artistic ambiance.
The materials used in the realization of this design further enhance its uniqueness. Exposed concrete textures the walls, creating a raw and industrial aesthetic. Mirrors with a diameter of just 1mm cover another section of the café, adding depth and visual interest. Bamboo accents adorn the counter front, while alder, concrete, and Corian surfaces grace the tables, combining natural and industrial elements.
Spanning an area of 125 m2, the Lovar Bistro showcases a harmonious blend of concrete, wood, ceramics, mirrors, and Nano fabric. This diverse range of materials contributes to the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space.
The bistro's design features several notable elements that engage visitors. A 10-meter-long high leg sofa stretches along one wall, inviting guests to relax and enjoy their surroundings. Classical influences are subtly incorporated into the design, drawing attention to the ceiling's exposed artistic work. Paintings on the walls reflect the fusion of classical and modern styles, symbolizing the transition from one era to another.
The Lovar Bistro project commenced in February 2017 and concluded in June 2018. Located in Tehran, Iran, it serves as a testament to the power of design to transcend boundaries and create spaces that inspire and delight.
Combining classical and modern design elements posed a significant challenge for Tabar and his team. The delicate balance between the two styles required meticulous planning and execution. However, the end result is a testament to their creative vision and ability to push the boundaries of design.
The Lovar Bistro has received recognition for its innovative design. In 2019, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This accolade celebrates the bistro's ability to authentically blend classical and modern elements, contributing to an enhanced quality of life for its patrons.
